16 Ways You Can Actually Survive The Dreaded Family Road Trips! #16 Is Epic!

Because it’s not the end of the world.

As a family, we travel more than 2,000 miles every summer. That’s a lot of time on the road, and it requires resilience and real strength of character to come out of the whole ordeal with your sanity intact.

I wish we had a private jet, but we don’t live in a fairytale world and wishes don’t mean anything. Which is why I’ve had to come up with a few ways to better my experience on family road trips – little things that have made family trips just a bit more tolerable.

1. Caffeinate, or suffer the consequences. A decent cup of coffee by your side can be the difference between survival and certain death.

2. There’s no point in swimming against the tide. Kids think of the car ride as an integral part of the vacation, so you might as well go along with it.
